Privacy
Cirque has no accounts, no forms, no advertising and no cookies. This page explains the little that is collected when you use the site, and which other services your browser talks to.
Who we are
Cirque (cirqueski.com) is run by Methodis Ltd, a company based in the United Kingdom. Methodis Ltd is the controller of any personal data described here. For anything to do with privacy, email hello@cirqueski.com.
What we collect
Visit statistics. The site is hosted by Framer, which records page views, the page you came from, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. These statistics are anonymous and aggregated. They use no cookies and nothing is stored on your device.
Server records. Like any web host, Framer briefly processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Email. If you email us, we keep your message and address only as long as we need to reply and deal with your request.
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or build profiles of visitors.
What stays on your device
If you add resorts to Compare, that list is saved in your own browser’s local storage so it is still there next time. It never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Services your browser contacts
To draw the globe and the snow, your browser loads files directly from these services. Each one receives your IP address and the request, and handles it under its own privacy policy.
Framer: hosts the site and the visit statistics.
Google Fonts: serves the typefaces.
unpkg: serves the map software, MapLibre.
OpenFreeMap: serves the base map.
Amazon Web Services: serves the terrain elevation tiles.
EOX: serves satellite imagery, only if you switch to the satellite view.
Open-Meteo: supplies current snowfall, only if you choose Current.
Why we can use this data
Under UK GDPR, our lawful basis for visit statistics and server records is our legitimate interest in running, securing and improving a free website. Keeping your Compare list on your device is part of the feature you asked for, so it needs no consent banner.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to how it is used, by emailing hello@cirqueski.com. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Cirque is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If what we collect changes, for example if accounts or bookings are added, we will update this page first and change the date at the top.
